This picture of the camper taken on Sunday May 2nd in Amarillo is very deceiving. We arrived in Amarillo in a driving rain storm on April 30 and decided to stay an additional day due to the poor weather. This where we listened to the first of three tornado warnings we were to hear in the next 5 days.

There wasn't much to do in Amarillo in the rain. We did take advantage of their covered / heated swimming pool. However, with the rain beating on the tin roof of the cover it was a little like being in a barrel of marbles that was being continually turned.

The picture below is West of Amarillo. It is on Cadillac Ranch and is a tribute to the 1950 "fins" Almost all early and mid 50's cars had tail fins of some sort. Also, you can get an idea of the kind of weather we were experiencing.
