Day 48 - Travel to Carmacks, YT

Today was our first day driving on paved roads again since we entered the Dempster Highway nine days ago. How sweet it is!

Taken from the Tintina Trench viewpoint with morning fog still hanging in the air. This is about 11 miles from Dempster Corner.

This is the Stewart River taken from a wayside just north of Stewart Crossing.

Just to make sure we didn't forget how to drive on gravel, we encountered a couple of areas where crews were widening the road.

The Stewart Crossing bridge is under construction,s so it is a one way with a signal light to control traffic.

We had a few rain showers as we drove to Carmacks today, but nothing too heavy.

When we arrived at Carmacks, we discovered we could wash our rigs, so Marge and Ann didn't waste time washing their car.

Ivan and Carol are washing their rig, while Bill and Larry are cleaning their individual rigs as well.

Skeeter gave us the trip briefing for tomorrow and Pat followed up with our schedule of events while we are in Whitehorse the next few days.
