Day 7 - Travel to Drumheller, AB

The rain continued all night and was still raining when as we were departing for Drumheller.

A very welcome sight was the clearing skies ahead. However, that did not last long. Part of the road was under construction, so we all drove part of the way on a wet muddy road that was under construction.

Although Drumheller was first developed in 1911 around the coal mines; those mines have long been closed and dinasours seem to rule the economy now.

You can see that as you drive through town. Here is the Jurassic Motel.

The 84 foot tall Tyrannasaurus Rex towers over the Chamber of Commerce building. For $3.00 you can climb to the top Rex and look out the mouth.

There is a dinosaur exploritorium on the highway we took to the campground.

This lifesize dino is next to a parking lot.

It was raining again when we arrived at the campground in mid afternoon.

Since we all drove through the muddy road under construction, our cars and RVs were pretty muddy.

The owner of the campground must have thought we were crazy as many of us started washing our rigs in the rain.

Unfortunately, one of our members got stuck in the soft soil and had to be pulled out by a wrecker.

Finally the sun came out and we had an impromptu social in the muddy roadway.
